John T. Evans II

We wouldn’t be where we are today without the pioneering leadership of the late John T. Evans II. John was a legend in the world of Dallas real estate. With an eye for commercial real estate innovation, he was among the first to focus on restaurant expansion and development. You could see his conviction from an early age.

In 1968, John volunteered for the Marine Corps, where he rose to the rank of Corporal while serving in the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he earned a BBA from the University of North Texas. From there, his rise to the highest ranks of the real estate industry was all but inevitable.

Founder | 1948-2019

After serving as COO of Evans Birmingham Williamson, he co-founded what would become part of the retail division of Trammell Crow Company, Cornerstone Commercial Real Estate. By the mid-90s he was ready for more. With great pride, and the tenacity of an accomplished marathoner, he founded the commercial real estate brokerage and investment company bearing his name.

More important than any deal or development, John considered relationships his greatest contribution. Often, clients would become lifelong friends. With the opening of Ten50 BBQ in 2014, he was able to realize a lifelong dream of creating his own restaurant concept. More than a success story, the restaurant was a deep source of pride.

Preston T. Evans

Hands-on may be the best way to describe Preston’s approach to the family business. Growing up in the commercial real estate industry, he got to know every area of the business, from marketing and brokerage to HR and operations. With his talent for design coming more into focus, Preston gravitated toward the development side of the company. Often, new ideas were sparked when he and his father traveled together.

President

Preston received his formal education from Southern Methodist University. However, nothing compares to the knowledge he gained in the 12 years working alongside his father and close collaborator. With his own distinct leadership style, Preston continues to honor their shared vision for the company to this day.

With family at the forefront, the company board of directors includes John’s daughter, Hayley Evans Fournier, a Dallas-based clinical psychologist, and John’s wife, Debbie Evans.
